Scholarships open to study in Spain, Japan and Chile: there are few requirements and they can pay up to half of the tuition

Studying abroad is one of the dreams of many people, because it allows them to learn about other cultures, as well as gain knowledge in the areas in which they are developing.

In this sense, the Colombian Institute of Educational Credit and Technical Studies Abroad – Mariano Ospina Pérez (Icetex) opened several scholarships for those who want to access, can study in countries such as Spain, Japan and Chile.

“Icetex, in cooperation with different countries, offers several calls that are golden opportunities to experience education in countries such as Spain, Japan and Chile. These are scholarships that will be awarded in recognized institutions such as the University of Nebrija, the International University of La Rioja, among others, and in the areas of engineering, health sciences, disaster risk management, technology and economics“, said Patricia Abadía Murillo, acting president of the entity.

The board invited those interested to review the requirements on the website www.icetex.gov.co in the Current Scholarships section and, if they meet all the requirements, to upload the documents to participate. “Our purpose is to support the life projects of Colombians,” she added.

Masters in different areas at Nebrija University, in Spain

These scholarships for virtual master’s degrees are aimed at Colombian university professionals interested in the programs offered by Nebrija such as Business and tourist destinations, International humanitarian law, Security and defense, Cybercrime, Marketing and digital advertising, Psychopedagogy, among others.

Applicants must be over 21 and under 65 years of age, have a grade point average of 3.7, have at least one year of professional experience and have definitive admission or advanced paperwork with the University. Those selected will receive a 50% tuition fee waiver.

Scholarships for virtual master’s degrees in different areas at the International University of La Rioja – UNIR, Spain

Applicants must be over 21 and under 65 years of age, have a 4.0 grade point average and have at least two years of professional experience.

Scholarship for accommodation at the Miguel Antonio Caro residence, Madrid (Spain)

These scholarships with accommodation quotas are aimed at Colombian professionals from any field of knowledge who have definitive admission to master’s or doctoral programs to begin in the second semester of 2024 or who are currently studying at a higher education institution in Madrid.

Applicants must be Colombian citizens over 20 years of age and under 65, have a student visa approved by the Government of Spain, preferably have at least one year of professional experience and have definitive admission with the University where they are or will be carrying out their studies.

Sakura Program in Japan for Secondary Education

These scholarships for in-person studies are aimed at outstanding students in 10th and 11th grade of high school from public education institutions linked to the MinCiencias ‘Ondas’ program between 2023 and 2024.

Applicants must be between 15 and 19 years old, have a grade point average of 4.0 in Sakura program areas (mathematics, chemistry, biology, physics and computer science), have a command of English with a B1 grade according to the common European framework, and those who belong to ethnic groups will receive additional points.

Those selected will receive 100% scholarships, round-trip tickets, travel insurance, accommodation and food during their stay in Japan.

Virtual course in Chile: Community plans for disaster risk management

Applicants must be over 20 years old and under 65, have a grade point average of 3.7, preferably have at least one year of professional experience in topics related to risk management and preferably part of the National Civil Protection System (SNPC), National Civil Defense System or Disaster Risk Management of the country.
